VIA| Alyssa Milano has recently come out with an interesting revelation, saying that she plans on breastfeeding until her daughter Elizabella is six.
While breastfeeding is very beneficial in the early years, many people have responded to her breastfeeding pictures and comments with some really negative attitudes. Fortunately the actress isn’t letting any of the haters get to her.
Milano isn’t new to this whole parenting thing, already having raised a 4-year-old son named Milo.
“When you have these babies, that connection is meant to be and so profound,” she told ET while promoting her new line of designer paper towels. “You look at them and go, ‘Oh, this is why. This is why I went through everything in my life.”
Milano made sure to note the difference between the public’s reaction to Miley Cyrus showing her nipple at the MTV Video Music Awards and posting pictures while breastfeeding Elizabella.
“Everyone’s fine with her nipples being out. I think people are more comfortable sexualizing breasts that relating them to what they were made for, which is feeding another human,” she said.
Regardless, Milano is going to do what she pleases and likely continue to share those special moments – despite the fact that so many people think it is inappropriate. She does make a good point – why is breastfeeding such a big deal when something like the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition comes out every year without as much as a whisper from the complainers.
