ELDER PATRIOT – Feckless Americans Getting What They Deserve
“Learn to value yourself, which means: fight for your happiness.” ― Ayn Rand
Except for our brave fighting men in the military, Americans have become wimps complaining that we are in post constitutional times where the rule of man trumps the rule of law but refusing to man up and do anything about it. It’s even worse than they realize as many of those doing the complaining have themselves become unwitting adherents to the lawlessness of the day.
Our acceptance of the Patriot Act and the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that trample our First, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Eighth, Ninth and Tenth Amendment Protections in the name of combating some vague threat of terrorism was the first indication of how compliant we had become as a people.
Re-electing politicians who have consistently violated their election promises and who have turned a blind eye to the invasion of our southern border was the next indicator that Americans had lost the desire to fight to protect their personal interests. Is invasion too strong a word for you? Why? The only thing missing was a military conflict. The invaders have taken jobs from Americans, pillaged our welfare system, and committed crime disproportionate to their numbers. Now they threaten to commandeer our electoral process and Americans stand silent.
Recently a poll conducted by the highly regarded pollster Scott Rasmussen shed light on just how successful the Secular-Left has been in convincing the American people of the superior position of the government over the people’s religious rights. Rasmussen Reports has found that only 26% of likely U.S. voters believe that Kim Davis the Kentucky municipal clerk who refused to sign marriage licenses for gay couples was within her rights. The poll found that 66% (a sign of the antichrist?) of the people believe it was the clerk’s responsibility to follow the diktat of five un-elected secularist jurists no matter if it is at odds with her religious convictions.
They were able to accomplish this despite American’s Constitutional protections to the contrary and those very jurists sworn promise to uphold that very same Constitution:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Marriage and gay rights are constructs of an over-reaching government that long ago involved itself with social matters that it had no Constitutional jurisdiction doing.
How they now trump Kim Davis’ clearly enumerated First Amendment rights is beyond logic. That the American people agree with the Supreme Courts decision to violate Davis’ First Amendment rights is the latest and most egregious example of America growing fecklessness.
If Americans continue fighting for everyone but them selves America will soon be unrecognizable. To many it already is.
