VIA| Every President of the United States is really a member of one of the most exclusive clubs to have ever existed. Currently, there are five living Presidents. So when something happens to a former President, it’s a big deal.
This past summer, Jimmy Carter made the shocking announcement that he had cancer, and would be seeking immediate treatment. Doctors had found small masses on his brain, metastatic cancer, while he was undergoing liver surgery. As soon as the news was made public, countless Americans went to praying for Mr. Carter. It seems the prayers were answered..
The former President’s doctors were happy to tell him that,
“…recent tests have shown there is no evidence of new malignancy, and his original problem is responding well to treatment.”
That’s great news!
The former President, now 91-years old, has publicly stated he has made his peace with this world.
“I’m perfectly at ease with whatever comes…You know, I have had a wonderful life. I have had an exciting and adventurous and gratifying existence.”
He also added,
“I didn’t go into an attitude of much despair or anger or anything like that…I was just completely at ease.”
We’re glad to see Jimmy Carter is doing better, and wish him as much time as possible to do good while he’s still here with us.
