VIA| Since the terror attacks in Paris last week, France has launched numerous raids to bring those who committed the atrocities on November 13th to justice.
One of those raids took place in the Paris suburb of Saint-Denis Tuesday night, where gunfire and explosions rang out in a city that’s already reeling from so much chaos and heartache.
During the raid, a woman, who was a suspect to the authorities, reportedly detonated her suicide vest.
According to the BBC:
At least two suspects have reportedly been killed, including a woman who blew herself up with a suicide belt. Several explosions and gunfire were heard.
Three people have also been arrested, according to French media reports.
It was reported earlier that other terrorists were held up in the apartment complex where the raid is being conducted. It turns out, the owner of the apartment has been arrested, but he claims he didn’t know who the jihadists were.
He told AFP before being detained via the Telegraph:
The man, who was not named, said he had lodged two people in the apartment at 8 rue du Corbillon after a friend asked him to put them up. She told him they were coming from Belgium and needed a place to stay for a couple of days.
“I told them there were no mattresses and they said ‘That’s OK,’ they just wanted water and a place to pray,” he said.
A friend of the man said she had slept n the apartment last week and that the man had forced open the door, and that it was a “sort of squat.”
Four police officers have also been wounded as a result of the ongoing raid.
