VIA| Jewel Warren, a young Tennessee resident, was supposed to attend a Father-Daughter Dance with her father, Tim Warren, but unfortunately her dad was killed in the line of duty.
When she officially accepted the invitation, her mom and other police widows sprang into action. Six officers that were friends and partners with Tim Warren offered to be her escort, while the women made sure she traveled in style.
Not only did every single officer give a red rose to her, but the ladies had been able to schedule a hair appointment, a 1972 Cutlass Supreme ride to the dance, and the money for a dancing-friendly teal dress.
A local photographer Amanda Swain was propositioned to document the evening and her response was incredible:
“I said, ‘I will not accept money but I’d be happy to do it,’ the emotion of it just bows me away.”
Jewel Warren had a great time.
Apparently the police officers were the life of the party too. Everyone was pretty much in tears by the end of the night.
These are the stories that the media typically leave out when talking about cops.
