Developing: Unarmed U.S. Marines TAKE DOWN Armed Terrorist on Train

VIA| While there’s been much recent discussion about the need to ARM our Marines — and rightly so — what just happened proves they’re a force to be reckoned with, armed or not.

As one terrorist just found out, his assault rifle and 200 rounds of ammo were no match for our brave men in uniform.

As the Daily Mail reports:

A group of unarmed US Marines on board a high-speed train between Amsterdam and Paris foiled a terrorist attack after a gunman opened fire with an assault rifle, wounding three people.

The 26-year-old Moroccan national, who was known to security services, came out of the toilet brandishing the gun and opened fire. Fortunately, two US Marines were nearby and overpowered him before he could massacre passengers.

The suspected terrorist had at least nine full magazines of ammunition holding almost 200 rounds. He was also carrying a knife.

Speaking in Arras, French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve praised the Marines for their timely intervention.

He said: ‘Thanks to them we have averted a drama.

‘(The Americans were) particularly courageous and showed extreme bravery in extremely difficult circumstances.’

With a terrorist wielding an automatic assault Kalashnikov rifle, loaded with nine full magazines and 200 rounds of ammo, you hate to imagine how much worse this might have been were it not for these few brave Marines.

The man was arrested by police near the town of Arras in northern France.

As the Associated Press reports, French authorities have been on heightened alert since Islamic extremist attacks in January left 20 people dead. According to a spokeswoman for the Paris prosecutor’s office, investigators from France’s special anti-terror police are leading the investigation.

While some of the U.S. mainstream media is, perhaps curiously, describing the brave men who foiled this terrorist plot as “Americans,” multiple sources are confirming these brave men, were in fact Marines. As Bearing Arms writes:

Attitude goes a long way towards determining the winner of a fight. In this instance, the honed reflexes and warrior spirit of the Marines enabled them to quickly overcome what is believed to be a fully-automatic weapon and subdue the gunman with a minimal number of casualties, preventing a possible massacre.
