Europe bypasses treaty process and begins implementing TTIP measures

About two weeks ago the U.S., along with 12 Pacific Rim nations, finalized the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement which is a secret trade pact meant to give unprecedented power to multi-national corporations.  And while the full agenda of the TPP will not be released to the public for at least another four years, from what agencies like Wikileaks have been able to uncover so far, the TPP is primarily about the full implementation of global fascism, and and the destruction of sovereign power.

Yet the TPP is just one of three trade pacts and treaties being attempted by the U.S. to counter the rising power coming out of Eurasia and the Far East.  And while the European based TTIP hasn’t officially been finalized, Eurozone nations appear to be already implementing its agenda despite the public’s massive outcry to reject the treaty.

The terms of Obama’s proposed TPP ‘trade’ treaty with Asian countries won’t be made public until the treaty has already been in force for at least four years. The terms of Obama’s proposed TISA (Trade In Services Agreement) with 52 nations won’t be made public until the treaty has already been in force for at least five years. Obama’s proposed TTIP treaty with European countries has been so successfully hidden, that even the number of years it will be kept from the public isn’t yet known. Hello, international fascism — all in secret, until too late for the public to do anything.

But in Europe, things are being rushed, just in case secrecy breaks and the treaty fails to pass. The European Union is already secretly imposing provisions from the secret Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) treaty, even before anyone has signed it, and even before it has been formally approved in any nation. This was revealed over the last weekend in two places:

On the night of October 17th, Phillip Inman of the online version of the Guardian bannered (in an article that the Guardian  declined to publish in its printed edition), “Prospect of TTIP already undermining EU food standards, say campaigners,” and he reported that,

Nick Dearden, director of anti-poverty group Global Justice Now, says the EU’s chief trade counsellor, Damien Levie, has let slip that free trade means undermining current minimum standards agreed by the EU.

Dearden says that according to a report in the  [subscription-only] newsletter Washington Trade Daily, Levie told a conference held by US free market thinktank the Cato Institute [which is owned by America’s passionately anti-regulatory billionaire oil-investors, the Koch brothers] that genetically modified crops and chemically washed beef carcasses were being allowed into the EU ahead of a deal.

According to the report, Levie said EU member states “have been stepping up case reviews and approving new genetically modified organisms [GMOs] with five new products approved so far”. …

Levie … told the Cato Institute conference that neither side wants to reach anything less than a comprehensive economic agreement. He conceded the deal could founder on resistance from the US to include financial services in the deal and Washington’s reluctance to open local and state procurement to bids from EU businesses. – Eric Zuesse via Zerohedge

At stake in these trade treaties are sovereign nations and local governments losing their ability to regulate and control corporations, and to ensure health and economic protections for the peoples within their borders.  Among the draconian measures hidden within the TPP and TTIP are new legal processes that take justice out of the hands of sovereign courts, and put them under the dominion of corporate mediation.  So if a nation in Europe decides they do not want to allow GMO constructs into their food system, they no longer will have this power as companies like Monsanto can sue them under these new international mediators and will eventually force them to give up their entire food industry to multi-nationals who are above the law.

It almost appears to be too late for Europe, and especially for nations within the Eurozone who are little more than vassals of the American empire.  And while the West is morphing ever more into a global fascist superstate, that is run and controlled by international banks and corporations who push through secret treaties that the public can never see, Russia, China, and many in the East are consolidating their own trade pacts, that are completely the opposite of what the TPP and TTIP represent.
