ELDER PATRIOT – “People buy into my agenda. I don’t buy into theirs.” – Marco Rubio, Establishment Presidential Candidate
Hey Marco, let’s see who’s doing the buying.
In May of this year you trailed only Jeb Bush 15.5% to 14.3% on the Real Clear Politics Poll that averages all of the national polls available. Today, with Governors Rick Perry and Scott Walker having called off their campaigns and with Jeb Bush floundering badly you picked up…um…oh my, you’ve lost 4.7 points down to 9.6%. That’s almost one-third of what you started with.
It’s becoming clear, Senator Rubio, that the more the people know your policies and learn about you they are rejecting both.
So who is buying, Senator?
The latest to jump on board is hedge-fund billionaire Paul Singer. Singer has been a six-figure donor to George Soros’ National Immigration Forum that advocates for open borders. You know that organization from the lobbying it did in support of your legislation that called for the issuance of an additional 33 million green cards in the next ten years.
U.S. citizens don’t have jobs and your vision for job growth is to give even more of them to foreigners. No wonder the people are rejecting you, Senator. Over 90% of the Republican base want immigration severely curtailed or stopped altogether.
While we’re on this topic Senator Rubio, explain to the voters how your plan for tripling the H-1B visa program helps the highly skilled Americans who can’t find work. You know, the ones like The Walt Disney Company recently fired so that they could replace them with cheaper foreign labor. Disney is your constituent. Obviously, the displaced workers weren’t.
Senator Rubio has been using his immigration agenda to secure piles of donor dollars from some of the biggest names seeking to buy influence; Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, Morgan Stanley, Larry Ellison (Founder and executive chairman of Oracle Corporation,) Carnival Corporation among many others.
For Senator Rubio it doesn’t stop with his immigration agenda. Mr. Rubio has emerged as the biggest proponent for the sugar industry where his relationship with Jose Pepe Fanjul of the Fanjul Corporation has netted him even more sizable donations. Next time you wonder about the artificially inflated price of sugar you can thank Senator Rubio. And, remember the 120,000 Americans who have lost their jobs thanks to Rubio’s protection of Fanjul family.
Next up, Mr. Rubio is wooing Sheldon Adelson, CEO of the Las Vegas Sands Corporation who wants Rubio to block legislation allowing Americans to gamble online.
Donald Trump correctly sized up Rubio:
“Lobbyists write the rules to benefit the rich and powerful. They buy off Senators like Marco Rubio to help them get rich at the expense of working Americans by using H-1B visas–so called “high tech” visas–to replace American workers in all sorts of solid middle class jobs… Senator Rubio works for the lobbyists, not for Americans. That is why he is receiving more money from Silicon Valley than any other candidate in this race. He is their puppet.”
Marco Rubio emerged with a fresh face and an endearing story. His quick ascendancy through the Republican Party, however, has exposed him as the worst kind of political powerbroker.
