VIA| This past weekend George Strait stopped his concert to make an announcement. The country music legend brought everything to a halt to honor America’s selfless veterans and troops. This is amazing!
As a former U.S. Army soldier, George Strait always takes the time to honor our troops and the many veterans who have given their lives for our freedom.
Strait put on an emotional show in Texas to raise funds for Wounded Warriors. He told his fans:
“I am very proud of the folks, the good friends and talented group of musicians, that I am sharing the stage with tonight. We are all here to raise money for the Wounded Warriors through David Feherty’s Troops First Foundation that gives quality help to our brave American wounded soldiers from the Middle East.”
He continued, “The least we can do is support these brave men and women who fight for us and we are all humbled and grateful for their service.”
Strait has always made it a priority to honor military men and women at his concerts. Below, Strait gives away a mortgage-free home to a military family. Watch the beautiful and emotional moment:
Although Strait isn’t touring anymore, he is determined to make a difference in the lives of America’s brave men and women of service. Strait told the Examiner:
“Yes, last year was my last and final tour. But that doesn’t mean I will not be working. In fact, we recently announced some dates in 2016 and 2017 for a series of shows in Las Vegas and my new album, Cold Beer Conversation, is out and doing well.”
Thank you George for reminding America of what really matters. Thank you for honoring our selfless men and women of service.
God Bless Our Troops. May God Bless America!
