GOP Congressman: Blame Drudge

ELDER PATRIOT – Seriously, you can’t make this stuff up!

Republican Congressman Adam Kinzinger who represents Illinois 16th Congressional District spoke on 1440 WROK radio yesterday and said; “(TPP) does not exist yet, so there’s been a lot of, you know, if you look at Drudge or you look at Obamatrade (the website), people are saying ‘you know Paul Ryan said it’s in secret and you’ve gotta pass it to find out what’s in it,’ well that’s not true.”

Okay Congressman, you got us there.  Ryan didn’t use Pelosi’s exact words.  What he did say was it would be available when “it’s declassified and made public once it’s agreed to.”  So I will ask the congressman, who’s either a moron or trying to put something past us, what’s the difference?

Perhaps the Congressman can tell us why both he and Paul Ryan have been complicit in allowing only certain select congressmen to see the bills, and then only in a secret basement room and absent any note pads, recording devices or cameras.

The Congressman continued showing how unfit he is for his high office when he added; “A lot of where this misinformation has come from, it’s actually amazing. I saw Paul Ryan on Fox & Friends and even the anchors did not really know the difference between TPA, TAA, TPA. Where a lot of the misinformation comes from by the way I think it’s this website called obamatrade.comor something.”

Blaming Matt Drudge for articles that appear on his website is stupid and the Congressman should know that.  The Drudge Report is nothing more than a compilation of news articles that appear elsewhere in the print media, often the New York Times, The Washington Post and the LA times.

So Congressman Kinzinger wants to shoot the messenger.  Under what rock do the major political parties in Illinois find these fascists and, how stupid are the folks who vote for these politicians?

If the Congressman believes there is a lack of understanding about these trade bills how about pointing the finger at his party for agreeing to even consider this treaty without every Senator and Representative getting to read it in it’s entirety.  Forget any vetting by the American people because it’s obvious that the Congressman considers us too stupid to know what’s good for us.  Here’s what we do know Congressman, every time a trade bill has been passed American jobs got outsourced, international corporations got stronger and American small business has shrunk.

The Congressman doesn’t see the bigger picture.  Americans don’t trust their government any longer.  Directing his anger anywhere other than at his fellow lawmakers shows that he’s part of the problem not part of the solution.

The Republicans have spent every minute of the past 6 years demonizing every move President Obama has made while agreeing to fund every Obama program.  That alone is enough raise questions among your constituencies.  Now, you’re fully in bed with the president and asking us to trust you.

As I wrote in a previous column, it’s time to throw them all out.  Let’s break up the power structure that has grown so connected and so powerful that our representatives feel no need to even report to us any longer.  Let’s re-establish the correct order of our representative democracy where our representatives work for us.

In 2016 we will have the opportunity to depose 471 of the 537 tyrants who reign over us.  That’s the president and vice president, 34 senators, and all 435 members of the House.  We’ll lose a few good people but it will be well worth it to cleanse ourselves of the existing “good old boys club.”  The people are clamoring for term limits.  Our elected officials will never vote themselves out of a job.  This will be our opportunity to send every one of these elitists pigs packing.
