VIA| Naive Obama has made America a laughingstock in the Middle East
While typically sympathetic toward America, Israel’s major newspapers on Thursday couldn’t help but bemusedly shouting “WE TOLD YOU SO” at the Obama Administration over its cozying up to Iran.
Giving occasion to the gloating was the capture and humiliation of 10 US sailors whose vessel violated Iranian waters, and whose surrender was photographed and posted to news services around the world.
“‘Friendship,’ the Iranian version,” shouted the front page of Israel’s largest circulation paper, Israel Hayom.
“Humiliation,” read the top of the best-selling daily, Yediot Ahronot. Inside, the main story is headlined “America on its knees.”
Even the left-leaning, Obama-friendly Ha’aretz prominently pointed out that “Iran published photos of American soldiers surrendering.”
Israel Hayom really took the president to task, noting that just a day earlier Obama delivered his final State of the Union declaring America “the strongest nation in the world. Period.” He did this, the newspaper pointed out, despite already knowing that Iran had captured US servicemen and that he planned to do absolutely nothing about it.
