Ctpost.com is reporting that leading Democrats have made a decision to drop the names of Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson from their annual fundraising dinner. In a unanimous vote among party leaders the author of the Declaration of Independence has lost his place of honor in their version of history.
Ostensibly reacting to pressure from the NAACP because of Jefferson’s ties to slavery, the decision is thought to be unprecedented. To seasoned political observers this is much more than a single and unique event by some looney tune extremist politicians.
The NAACP would never seek to embarrass the Democrat Party without prior approval. More likely would be the party leaders asking the NAACP if they could use them for cover in taking this action. The reason is as plain as the nose on your face.
It is important to remember that Liberals and Progressives have consistently revealed their fascist tendencies. This is just the opening of a new front to cleanse our history of oft-quoted Founders of freedom. Once Jefferson is erased so his writings will be too, including the Declaration of Independence. At that point there will be little underpinning the freedoms we used to take for granted.
These are Jefferson’s words that the Progressive movement find so difficult to abide that they must be eradicated:
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, –That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”
When the writings of Jefferson that underscore the basis for our right to be free or to abolish our government are lost to history, man will be reduced back to serfdom.
The constant encroachment of all that patriotic Americans hold dear is making Ronald Reagan’s warning to us all the more prescient:
“Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”
