Next Up: Gun Confiscation

ELDER PATRIOT – The final piece of the Ruling Elite’s power grab will be gun confiscation.  Expect 2016 to be the year President Obama makes his move with the full support of the Democrats in Congress.  If you’re counting on the Republicans to block Obama’s play, think again.  They haven’t blocked a single aspect of the president’s agenda since gaining control of the Congress in 2010.

Accelerating the Elite’s power grab is the overwhelming support by rank and file voters for “outsiders” Donald Trump, Ted Cruz and Ben Carson that is now hovering around 65%, and has been growing.  The Elite’s usually reliable mainstream media has not been able to reverse the public’s growing disgust with the governing establishment and this has the Ruling Elite contemplating a complete washout in the 2016 elections, up and down the slate.  That leaves them with thirteen months of unchecked power to push through as much of their progressive agenda as possible before they are out of power.

In this environment peeling off the necessary half-dozen votes from establishment Republican senators who are polling particularly badly may not be difficult as those senators facing defeat will be jockeying to “feather their nest” to the greatest extent possible on the way out the door.  Those six votes would provide a majority in the senate.

The play for the House may be slightly more challenging because the number of Republican defectors necessary to achieve a majority is larger at 28.  Nevertheless, we’ve witnessed larger numbers of establishment Republicans than this switch their allegiances when the personal payoff was great enough.

The Republican Main Street Partnership is the most likely source for those votes.  The RMSP was organized expressly to deliver the votes necessary to advance the progressive agenda.  Here’s how it works.  Members who are most vulnerable for supporting any particular initiative are excused.  In this case though, members who are certain losers will be counted on to vote in support of confiscation.  The remaining members make certain the bill will pass by garnering the votes from those members least likely to suffer any consequences.

With 67 members the RMSP can pretty much guarantee the votes necessary to make gun confiscation the law of the land.

The court challenges as to the Constitutionality would follow but, as we have seen with Obamacare, the Supreme Court cannot be counted on to protect the rights of the American people.  In any event, the court challenges would take years while the gun confiscation would begin immediately.

The problems for those in the frontlines of actually confiscating our weapons are the large numbers of guns in the hands of law-abiding citizens, the large numbers of owners, and their stated intention of not giving their guns up without a fight.

How many good people who joined our military because of their desire to defend the Constitution would be willing to risk their lives forsaking it?  How many police would kick in the doors of their neighbors who they know are good and law-abiding people in order to take their guns?

Compounding these questions for those who will be charged with kicking down the doors of these good Americans is this fact: Sixty-five percent of America’s estimated 100 million gun owners have sworn to resist any efforts at confiscation using any means necessary.

That’s more people than will vote for the next president.  The Ruling Elite is courting a civil war and for what purpose?  To make us weaker in our own defense against the next wave of terror attacks from those President Obama has invited into our country?  To make it impossible for us to defend ourselves from the foreign troops he would call in to quell the insurrection?  This should prove to anyone with a modicum of cognitive ability that the Ruling Elite’s biggest concern is an informed and well-armed American citizenry.  Why do they fear us?

“When governments fear the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny.  The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.”
