ELDER PATRIOT – Bernie Sanders’ campaign reports it raised $42 million dollars in February. His donors should be really frosted when they figure out the powerbrokers entrenched within Democratic Party have already stacked the primary process to guarantee a Clinton win. I bet they’ll be falling all over themselves to vote for Hillary in November…Not!
The Republican mantra of lower taxes has been disgraceful because it has been accompanied by unfathomable spending well beyond any conceivable revenue projections. The result is debt that even our children will never be able to dig out from under. Since when it is conservative to spend on someone else’s credit card?
Maybe Marco Rubio can answer that question.
It’s simply amazing the breadth and the depth of control that is exercised over the media by the Ruling Elite. One only has to harken back to the 2014 re-election campaign of Utah Senator Orrin Hatch to recall the venerated “King of Conservatives” Mark Levin endorsing the treacherous Hatch. Hatch now wields incredible power as the Senate President pro tempore helping to marshal through trade deals and budgets that have ignored the pleas of the people who elected him. Thanks, Mark. You are many thing but “The Great One” you’re not.
Likewise, Rush Limbaugh’s refusal to put to rest the trumped up KKK issue against Donald Trump yesterday was disgraceful. Why isn’t he going after Hillary Clinton for her association with Grand Kleagle Robert Byrd of whom she remarked:
“Today our country has lost a true American original, my friend and mentor Robert Byrd. Senator Byrd was a man of surpassing eloquence and nobility…
It is almost impossible to imagine the United States Senate without Robert Byrd. He was not just its longest serving member, he was its heart and soul.”
Rush doesn’t get a pass on agreeing to give Rubio and Schumer time to move their Gang-of-Eight bill either. Rush was the fifth person at dinner the night Rubio and Schumer convinced Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes to “control” their on-air personalities comments on the proposed legislation.
Congressman Steve King has warned that the GOP elites will support Hillary if Trump or Cruz were to win the party’s nomination because she is considered someone “they can do business with.”
That would be the business of protecting their sorry selves from prosecution and continuing their gravy train at the expense of the American taxpayers. They have proven that they don’t give a damn in the least about their rank and file supporters.
It’s become crystal clear that political correctness is a one-way street and that liberals have declared themselves the traffic cops. The slightest mention about something they cannot intellectually defend is met with the back of their hand but their responses to Donald Trump and his supporters are rife with vile words, hatred, and even death threats.
Even if you like nothing else about Trump you should thank him for having the cajones to take on the challenge of restoring our First Amendment rights.
The mainstream media has taken to trying to shame Trump supporters away from supporting the Donald. They claim we’re uneducated, hate filled bigots. It’s not bigotry to denounce a belief system. We all denounce Nazism and the Ku Klux Klan. They are belief systems. So is Islam and it’s not wrong to denounce radical Islam and to attempt to protect your self from it.
The Elite are now pointing to a poll that shows 49% of the people vow never to vote for Trump as a reason to dismiss him from serious consideration and a reason to steal the nomination at the convention or to run a third party candidate. Ahem. They said the same things about Ronald Reagan before his landslide defeat of incumbent Jimmy Carter.
More than a few media reports have arisen claiming that Mitt Romney will be the Republicans’ choice if they can broker the convention and that if they fail to steal the nomination in Cleveland they’ll back a third party challenge by Romney. Pardon me while I try to stop laughing. Romney may take some votes from Hillary Clinton. He might even take a lot of votes from Hillary Clinton but he’s not likely to take a single vote from Trump. Trump’s path to the White House would actually be aided by his enemies if they ever acted on this threat.
The irony of the situation the GOP Elites find themselves in is satisfying to those of us who tried in vain to drag the party back to its conservative roots over the past two decades.
Had the Republican Party’s leadership given a damn about building a broader base by addressing the desires of the people, they would’ve backed Trump a long time ago. It’s clear he’s attracting the rank and file of both the Republican and Democratic Parties. Instead they threaten to throw their support to a person they’ve spent the past two decades painting as the most evil person on earth.
This more than anything else forces one to ask, “What are they afraid of?” and “Why did they lie to us over multiple elections?”
