What is it about the portion of the American electorate who vote for Democrats? It seems they’re content with rushing into dubious legislative restrictions and doubling down on failed policies. Measuring past Progressive governing achievements by the same standards used in the private sector would undoubtedly lead to their termination.
Front-runner Hillary Clinton has so many scandals swirling around her that one is forced to wonder if she has any sense of pride or decency at all. On top of that she has no achievements she can use to mitigate the charges of her questionable character when they arise during the campaign. When the complete story of how Hillary handled the Benghazi massacre is fully exposed the one remaining myth about her having the gravitas to accept a late-night call requiring the use of a military response will be shattered. Now, as she hits the campaign trail she refuses to take questions from the handpicked press her staff has allowed into her events. If there is no transparency during her campaign how can we expect any if she were to become president? Judging by the way she managed the Clinton Global Initiative, transparency is the last thing she wants. Her hubris is off the charts.
With Hillary faltering, Martin O’Malley has risen as a contender. O’Malley’s qualifications for the presidency seems to be tied to his gym membership. Like Vladimir Putin, O’Malley likes to be seen with his shirt off. His political resume is problematic. He divided the past sixteen years of his political career between being the mayor of Baltimore and the governor of Maryland. Come to think of it, he might be the perfect Democrat candidate with high taxes and racial unrest to his credit.
Then there’s Bernie Sanders. The senator from Vermont is an avowed socialist. The past 6 years have been nothing if not a march towards socialism. With domestic economic production on the decline, and 93,000,000 employable workers without jobs, only liberals could conclude that we need more of this failed economic approach.
Finally, there’s newly announced Lincoln Chafee from Rhode Island. The former Republican is now a Democrat (who can tell the difference anymore?) Chafee’s platform appears to be moving us to the metric system. This would be extremely beneficial to the New World Order movement but the conversion has already been tried here and soundly rejected by the American people a few decades ago. Then again, with the rising illegal population coming from metric based countries he may be on to something. After all, in the minds of Progressives, it doesn’t matter what the majority of the indigenous population wants. Here’s a question for Mr. Chafee and all of the Democrat candidates who seem to love things European; how about importing Europe’s more restrictive abortion laws?
This field will grow quite a bit larger in the coming months as future candidates realize the electoral weaknesses of the declared candidates. It will matter little since they will all be beholden to the party’s core constituencies who reflexively reject America’s common good for the benefit of their individual movements.
The Soviet Union suffered an economic collapse doubling down on restrictive governance over its people. Throughout history, socialism has not been accompanied by economic vitality. Similarly, legislating social values has invariably led to social decay and the destruction of the nuclear family. This doesn’t seem to matter to the current Democratic Party that appears to be intent on moving us forward towards a utopia that never was and can never be.
