VIA| Re-purposing old appliances and pieces of furniture is one of the most honorable things that a person can do within their own home because not only does it save on garbage, but it also shows hard work and determination.
One woman named Karina from her blog Krafty Karina figured out a way to take her old broken fridge, and make a beautiful piece of patio furniture that would have cost her big money!
With some times, wooden boards, and creative thinking, Karina was able to make her old fridge into a beautiful ice box for her patio.
“Everyone loves re-purposing old things into better-looking items,” Kristina said in her blog post “And of course, who doesn’t love a well decorated patio?!”
She started out by gutting her fridge, and taking out any unnecessary parts. This included things like lights, fans, shelves, and practically anything that wouldn’t be needed in a giant cooler.
Next, she took measurements and figured out exactly how much wood she would need to cover the entire exterior of the fridge.
Then with a little time, glue, and screws, she attached the wood to the exterior of the fridge while making sure the doors would still work properly and added a small hole at the bottom for the drainage of water.
As a finishing touch, she added legs to put the ice box on an easier to reach level.
Isn’t this project beautiful? At a fraction of the cost of a manufactured cooler, Karina was able to build this stunning piece of furniture that she will can use for her patio.
