VIA| Matt Morris was outraged when he learned that his little sister was being bullied at school.Because she was born with Down syndrome, Sarah was an easy target for the cowardly bullies.
But her brother, Matt, who also goes by the name MattyB, is a viral YouTube star. And he aimed to use his social media influence to write a song about how awesome his sister is. He did it. And he shared it with the world!
MattyB or Matt Morris is an 11-year-old aspiring rapper and song writer. He has become famous online for his popular music covers.
But after learning about his sister’s predicament, Matt Morris created a special song about his sister – that included many of his own lyrics.
The chorus of the track samples Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colors” but the verse that Matt wrote speaks the truth about how he feels about his beloved sister. Here are some of his lyrics:
“You know acceptance isn’t easy though; it challenges us all in some way /Whether it’s color, age, gender or race /We get uncomfortable when someone else is different /And they enter our space and it pressures us to be open to change.”
Matt’s always seen Sarah as his kid sister who he loves to play with. He hopes his rap will inspire others to stop bullying other people just because they’re different.
“Some people at school might pick on her for her needs, but I don’t think anybody should be bullied because of what they have,” Matt told ABC.
In the video below, you’ll see clips from Matt’s music video which feature his little sister Sarah.
