She Was NOT SUPPOSED To SING ABOUT JESUS On “The Voice”, What BLAKE Did? WHOA!

VIA| When I saw this 17-year-old’s rendition of a timeless gospel song, my hope for God’s presence in mainstream media was restored.

After an unforgettable 17th birthday, Emily Ann Roberts got the birthday gift of a lifetime when she made it to the final 12 on The Voice.

Although it was “unconventional” for her to pick a gospel song, Emily glorified God with the beautiful voice He blessed her with- proving she has what it takes to win this season.

Emily’s flawless rendition of the gospel classic “In The Garden” touched the hearts of everyone in the crowd, including the coaches!

“It’s always nice when you can enjoy a moment in its purity and not think about the show and not think about the competition,” Adam Levine said.

Emily’s timeless twang and the emotional lyrics to “In The Garden” brought this song to life in the most beautiful way. Her coach, Blake Shelton, was especially proud of Emily’s performance!

“You’re not trying to come out here and do crazy stuff. You just came out here and laid out your heart and who you are as a human being out on the stage for America to see,” Blake said.
