VIA| When Joey and Rory Feek recently found out that they had been nominated for the “Best Group Performance” Grammy, they were ecstatic. The nomination also meant that February of 2016 took on a whole new meaning for the couple.
Joey Feek is living with a terminal cancer diagnosis that puts the idea of tomorrow in doubt, much less a date two months from now. But the Grammys don’t take place until Sunday, February 15, and Joey wouldn’t miss it for the world.

Rory recently talked about the final three goals Joey had set for her life:
“Joey and I woke just thankful for the chance to have another day to be together. That was enough. When you honestly don’t know what tomorrow will bring, you don’t think any farther than today. But hearing the news about the Grammy nomination brought not only tears and smiles, it has brought us hope.”
In addition to the Grammy Awards, February contains two other very important dates for the Feek family. The duo’s new album is being released February 14, and they celebrate the birth of their daughter Indiana on February 17. The cluster of important dates inspired Joey to make a list of the three last things she is determined to accomplish before she dies.
1) Live until February 14, for the new release of their hymns album.
2) Live until February 15, for the couple’s Grammy nomination.
3) Live until February 17, for the second birthday of their daughter, Indiana.
“Joey recently set a personal goal of being here for all three. She’s so faith-filled and determined, don’t be surprised if you see us sitting in the audience, holding hands and smiling.”
