VIA| Judge Judy Sheindlin has made a career out of calling things exactly as she sees them, overseeing a television empire that nets her almost $50 million each year.
So, what does this notoriously popular judge think of Republican candidate Donald Trump?
Well, it’s complicated.
She sat down with ABC and discussed her mixed feelings for the candidate:
“Donald is way out there.”
“I think that if he really wants to be considered as a real candidate, he has to start to temper some of that rhetoric,” she said.
“There has to be a measure in the way you present your argument.”
However, this was certainly not a dismissal.
She also expressed admiration for Trump and discussed his political ascent:
“I’m crazy about Donald,” she said.
“Donald is plain speak.”
Judge Sheindlin boiled down the billionaire’s appeal to the public’s dislike of political correctness:
“Wouldn’t you like to hear what the candidates who are running for president have to say legitimately about how they feel about issues?
Rather than being politically correct and hearing the same old hogwash that we’ve heard for the last 30 years?”
However, when asked about who she was supporting for president, the famous TV judge was cagey.
She merely listed some of the qualities she was looking for in a leader:
“I’m looking for somebody who not only the citizens of this country can say is a true leader, but the citizens of the world.
The president of the United States is the leader of the free world.
We have to be able to, the world has to be able to rely on his or her word to feel that they have a good moral compass.”
Her television show, “Judge Judy,” has been on air for nearly 20 years.
