VIA| If you were to see Andy Perez on the street, you might notice is friendly demeanor and generous smile. Besides that he’d probably just like a regular guy working as a garbage truck driver for Waste Pro in Miramar, FL.
But in an instant, Andy became a real-life superhero when he decided to DO SOMETHING instead of sitting by idly.
Read his incredible story below …
While working outside of a home on his normal route at work, Andy heard a child scream. That’s when a little boy ran outside and asked Andy if he knew how to perform CPR. An infant was drowning in the pool.
Without hesitation, Andy’s heroic instincts kicked in and he sprung into action. He ran into the house and found the 1-year-old boy dead – without a pulse.
Andy started “breathing into the child’s lungs, giving chest compression and pumping lots of water from the boy, being careful to keep the child’s head to the side to prevent him from choking on the water as it was being expelled.”
While waiting for rescue crews to arrive, Andy kept performing CPR. And thanks to Andy’s persistent life-saving work, the boy’s pulse was restored before he arrived at the hospital.
Thanks to the heroic garbage truck driver, the little boy is alive. While still in critical condition, the boy has a future thanks to Andy.
As a parent and grandparent himself, Andy said he treated the little boy how he would his own.
