VIA| A Marine in Texas started a patriotic movement in response to a recent shooting by Islamist radicals that left an officer wounded and two terrorists dead. His community just reminded terrorists why you don’t mess with Texas. This is so inspiring!
Marine Joseph Offutt has been standing strong and proud with the American flag near the location where the shooting took place in Garland, Texas- Offutt’s hometown.
Raised by an Army family, this 21-year-old Marine decided to stand up in the most admirable way when he noticed America was living in fear after the attack.
“People are already afraid since 9/11 and I don’t want people to be scared so I’ve been out here every day since Tuesday holding the American flag,” Offutt said in an exclusive interview with QPolitical.
Rain or shine- Offutt has been there ALL day. Standing for 14 hours or more! Talk about dedication.
People have been inspired by his patriotism and have joined the #AmericanChallenge movement he started on Facebook. People honk like crazy as they pass the sea of Old Glory and signs that say “honk if you love America.” You can’t stop the goosebumps that happen as you pass this magical scene. Here’s one of Offutt’s Facebook posts.
“Every day that I come out here more and more people show up,” Offutt said in the interview. “We’re trying to get the word spread out that we need to come together. Doesn’t matter what race or religion you are- we can all stand together as Americans.”
We can never thank Offutt enough for standing up for America in such a beautiful way. This 21-year-old Marine just restored my hope for our nation. If you support his #AmericanChallenge, share this article!
