While Army Specialist Michael Sharkey and his wife were away from their Florida home during his tour of duty, freeloaders broke in and started living in his house.
When Sharkey learned about the squatters, he was further shocked, and disgusted, when they refused to leave. Until this happened…
Allegedly, Julio Ortiz and his girlfriend Fatima Cardoso had a “verbal agreement” with the person Sharkey put in charge of his home while he served in the Army. Everyone trustworthy involved with this case denies this agreement ever existed.
The squatters moved in and changed the locks but nobody knew how they got in initially.
Sharkey took the freeloaders to court in order to try to evict them but the judge favored the squatters over the veteran.
The Sharkeys had no idea what to do. So a group of military veterans stepped in to help. A biker gang partially made up of veterans “peacefully made the squatters uncomfortable” by riding up to the residence. Additionally, a veteran lawyer offered to represent Sharkey pro bono. It seemed like Ortiz was up against the ropes and the squatters up and vanished.
Ortiz was forced to learn the hard way never to mess with a group of American veterans.
