VIA| It’s no surprise that liberal loon Rosie O’Donnell isn’t a fan of guns and wants them increasingly controlled. But who would have thought that when Tom Selleck came on her show, she would pull a stunt like this. Instead of talking to him about his upcoming movie, The Love Letter, Rosie proceeded to pester Selleck about doing a commercial for the NRA.
But in true slick Tom fashion, Selleck responded graciously to Rosie, but he didn’t back down and let her walk all over him. It got really awkward toward the end when after Rosie had hijacked the interview and verbally assaulted Selleck, she tries to apologize. Rosie ended up looking like an idiot and Selleck the pure class that he is.
Our favorite line from the interchange is at 5:25 when Selleck questions Rosie’s idiotic logic:
Rosie: You also have the freedom of speech, but you’re not allowed to scream ‘fire’ in a crowded movie theater because it threatens the safety of other people. Assault weapons threaten the safety of other people. There’s no reason in my opinion to have them. You wanna have a hunting rifle? Great. You wanna have a handgun?
Tom: Do you really the Second Amendment is in the Constituion to guarantee hunting and target shooting? Do you really think that’s what the Founding Fathers meant?
Rosie: I think the Second Amendment is in the Constituion so that we can have muskets when the British people come over in 1800. I don’t think its in the Constituion to have assault weapons in the year 2000.
Tom then just takes a sip of his coffee, Rosie asks him if she’s wrong, and Selleck just casually nods his head.
