Rather than lash out in anger at the last minute rejection, Tebow instead handled the news with grace and gratitude.
Tim Tebow tweeted, “Thanks Eagles and Coach Kelly for giving me the opportunity to play the game I love! Romans 8:28 #Blessed”
The move came as a bit of a surprise to many people, especially Tebow’s fans, as he had a productive training camp and preseason this year, even throwing a couple of touchdown passes in his final preseason game.
Alas, it was not to be for Tebow this year, at least with the Eagles, though there is the possibility that some other team could pick him up as a free agent to bolster the depth of their quarterbacks or perhaps fill another position.
Tebow took the right attitude in accepting the news of being cut though, as his reference to Romans 8:28 reveals.
That Bible verse reads, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
Tim Tebow knows that God has a purpose for him, and while he may have wanted to play football with the Philadelphia Eagles this season, he is trusting that God has other plans for his good.
