ELDER PATRIOT – In 1776 our Founding Fathers memorialized their justifications for separation from England when they wrote the Declaration of Independence. The sentiments they expressed then appear to be just as prescient today:
“When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, —That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”
Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.–Such has been the patient sufferance of these Colonies;
If it’s possible Americans appear to be more divided over the course of the country today than ever before including the division that existed at the time of the Civil War.
The president has made sure of that by denigrating everyone with a different political viewpoint than his in the process opening deep wounds between those on the left and those on the right who now share nothing but the animosity that they feel for each other.
The vitriol that liberals now aim in the direction of those who disagree with them is reminiscent of a spouse who has lost all sense of reason due to their seething hatred. Their irrational sense of entitlement at the expense of others has fast evolved into a relationship that is seemingly irreparable.
Today, the issues most important to conservative Americans are the economy (spending, debt, jobs, and taxes,) immigration, and terrorism (including the government’s limitations on the Second Amendment that challenges Americans ability to combat it.) For conservatives they are deeply intertwined and they go to the very core of conservative belief as to what it will take to rebuild America’s greatness.
That these issues can be less important to their political opponents than homosexual rights, increased government spending to expand government dependency including funding the murder of the unborn, and trying to control the climate defies logic to conservatives.
Compounding conservative angst on these matters is that they’re disproportionately forced to pay for the Left’s failed agenda of lost jobs, increased taxes, and with the lives of their children who, because they’re the ones who elect to join the military, are forced to defend the carnage that results from the left’s policies both abroad and here at home.
For conservatives America has been the world’s lone shining city on the hill where freedom was complete and prosperity was there for the taking. Conservatives have watched 100 years of liberalism whittle away personal freedom and destroy much of the potential for individual wealth. They wonder why the Left, that had the entire world to choose from in order to indulge their desire for government intrusion in their lives, couldn’t have just left the United States alone and moved elsewhere.
Now they effort to deny what’s happening across Europe to the daughters, wives and mothers of Europe at the hands of Muslim rape gangs as they prepare to force us to fund that same Muslim invasion into our country. And still, they follow the liberal line like sheep to slaughter.
German Chancellor and ex-East German Stasi intelligence officer Angela Merkel was caught on an open mic imploring Mark Zuckerberg to cleanse Facebook of anyone posting about the atrocities being perpetrated by Muslims throughout Europe.
Zuckerberg’s agreement to do so infringes on our right to know the truth about the end days of European society so that we may defend ourselves accordingly.
This is not a right-wing fable. Why in the world would the Chancellor otherwise arrange to be seated next to a social media mogul at a major event (or, any event) if she didn’t have “business” to discuss with him?
Does anyone doubt that if the German people had something similar to the Second Amendment they would already be in revolt against those making their streets unsafe for their women?
Angela Merkel has given us a glimpse of what a Hillary Clinton administration would bring to America. That large numbers of Americans choose to follow that route is up to them but the rest of us should not be made to suffer the consequences of their ruling coalition of minorities.
If they desire to have their taxes and debt increased in order to fund Muslim immigration and living expenses they should be free to do that. I should have the right not to.
If they choose to put their daughters, wives and mothers at risk of Muslim rape gangs they should be free to do that. I should have the right not to.
If they choose to embrace the Islamic movement and all that comes with it they should be free to do that. I should have the right not to.
If they choose to welcome potential terrorists into their midst rather than do all they can to defend against the threat of terrorism they should be free to do that. I should have the right not to.
If they choose to be citizens of the world rather than putting America first they should be free to do that. I should have the right not to.
For conservatives the path forward is clear. The immediacy of the threat that the Left’s immigration policies poses demands our absolute defense of the Second Amendment in order to guarantee our ability to protect ourselves. Obama’s recent infringement on the Second Amendment and Hillary Clinton’s promise to move for gun confiscation are transparent strategies to turn us into unwilling victims of the Muslim invasion just as Merkel the other European “leaders” have done to the people of Europe.
Beyond the immediate threat the question still exists is this a marriage worth saving? It now seems that neither side will ever agree with the other only stepping aside when the bludgeon of an election falls on them. Even after two-landslide elections that empowered Ronald Reagan to heal the economy and eliminate the threat of the Soviet Union the Left spent the ensuing thirty years lying about his achievements in order to denigrate Reagan and the conservative principles that he stood for. They do not seek the path of good and righteous government Instead, they seek the enslavement of Americans just as their comrades have across the globe.
The Left is clamoring for gun confiscation in order to insure the authority of the government they envision. The Right is committed to resist any infringement against the Second Amendment as a safeguard against such over arching governmental authority. If we cannot agree is it inevitable that it comes to the Left’s government troops against the Right’s armed militias?
Wouldn’t the sensible thing be for us to negotiate a divorce and for us to go our separate ways? After all, there is plenty of land and resource to divide fairly. The Left would be unencumbered to follow their Marxist dream to wherever it may lead along the coastlines and across the Upper Midwest. The Right would be free to continue pursuing the dreams of our Founding Fathers with the knowledge of the wording required to ensure that the Constitution will never again be corrupted through interpretation.
We should do it for the good of the children if for no other reason.
