VIA| The Ghost And Mrs. Muir is one of those films that everybody born before the year 1970 will remember, yet it’s almost been forgotten about in the modern day. Featuring the brave Captain Daniel Gregg, this ghostly tale was far ahead of it’s time and surprisingly still holds up!
While a horror movie doesn’t sound like the best setting for a romantic plot, this film manages to bring the two together in a way that no film has come close to since.
Lacy Muir stars as a strong, independent widow who is suffering from severe fincial distress. Forced to move into a creepy little cottage in England, Muir is horrified to discover that the place is haunted!
Her finances still dwindling by the minute, Muir ends up receiving help from the most unlikely place – the ghost himself! The Captain, played by Rex Harrison, proposes a plan that could make Muir a rich woman – all she has to do is to “ghost” write his memoirs.
The plot thickens from there as the ghost becomes jealous of Mrs. Muir but we won’t ruin the beautiful surprise ending. If you are looking for a movie that will make you laugh, cry, fall in love and keep you on your toes, look no further than The Ghost And Mrs. Muir for your next movie night!
