VIA| The Olympic Games Opening Ceremony has never failed to amaze the audience, with fantastic demonstrations of national pride in a variety of different forms. But this year, the Nanjing Youth Olympic Games took their own opening ceremony to the next level with an incredibleChristmas-themed display.
The show takes place in an entirely darkened stadium, which highlights the acrobats right in the center of the floor. First they build a human tower, then more and more of them begin to climb up until finally they spread out and the entire group turns into a massive Christmas tree!
Prepare to be stunned by these 500 acrobats, because even if you have been to Cirque du Soleil, you have never seen anything like this. The tower of acrobats reaches several stories high, towering over the floor and glowing brightly the entire time.
While the airborne acrobats are shifting into different shapes, it’s easy to miss the talented dancers below dancing in sync with those above. The lights continue to shift to different colors and shapes, forming brilliant illusions that make it almost impossible to look away.
Each shift of the dancers is entirely unexpected and beautiful in it’s own way. Somehow all 500 managed to stay perfectly synchronized, an achievement in it’s own right. The clip below includes several shots from directly below the acrobats, who then create a sort of kaleidoscope with their shifting, brightly colored forms.
Keep watching until the end to see the stunning finale and don’t forget to share this mind-blowing clip with your Facebook friends!
