VIA| Whenever we get to see the creativity behind the scenes of an artists, we take a glimpse into a whole new world. Like how we saw this Austin artist use clay to create a beautiful sculpture or how this man kept drawing circles in a spiral on a paper to reveal a portrait.
In this 5-minute video, artist Heather Rooney shares a time lapse glimpse into her creative process.
When Robin Williams died on August 11, 2014, the world lost one of its favorite actors. His comedy had brought joy to countless people around the world.
So Heather Rooney decided to draw a portrait of the actor as a tribute to his memory.
She starts by creating an outline of his facial features using an ordinary mechanical pencil. Just a few seconds into the video, she has already begun using colored pencils to bring out his eye and face. As the image of Robin Williams continues to unfold, I’m speechless. It’s amazing how real she is able to make it look.
