THIS Is WHAT IT MEANS If You Notice A PARKING SPOT PAINTED PURPLE …

VIA| While we are familiar with handicapped parking spaces and know to avoid them unless we have the badge to use it, this holiday season you might see purple parking spaces.

What are these for? A movement has spread across the country where businesses arehonoring wounded veterans with their own parking spaces to make life just a bit easier.

As we know, our veterans don’t always get the respect and honor they deserve. To change that, the Wounded Warriors Family Support organization started connecting with local businesses to reserve parking spaces for those injured in combat.

The parking spaces will be painted purple. Plus a sign will be erected to let everyone know what it means. The organization is handing out free parking signs to patriotic businesses ready to get involved.

Stores, churches, and other establishments love the idea. And it’s catching on quickly!

“There are an estimated 1.8 million Purple Heart recipients, combat wounded service members who have transitioned back into civilian life,” Wounded Warriors Family Support wrote online.

Earlier this week the Military Order of the Purple Heart, USA posted an image of a business painting a parking spot purple. And it quickly got shared more than 1,600 times.
