VIA| The war on police raged on this week in Texas, where a Whataburger restaurant employee recently told two police officers that their restaurant has a policy against serving police officers.
According to Mediaite, officers Michael Magovern and Cameron Beckham walked into the Lewisville, Texas restaurant as they worked the night shift at a nearby construction site. Before they had a chance to order, however, the cashier told them “We don’t serve police officers.”
The incident has since received widespread attention in Texas, where Whataburger is something of a staple. Texans are now calling for a boycott of the popular restaurant chain for disrespecting our nation’s police officers.
“This is my favorite place to eat and to hear that one of your establishments refused service to an officer is appalling,” read one complaint. “I hope y’all can make it right…”
After receiving tons of backlash, Whataburger released a statement of apology.
“This is 100% not what we stand for at Whataburger and it would never be acceptable to refuse service to a police officer,” “We want to address this as soon as possible with any parties involved so we can reach out and make this right.”
