VIA| Historically when a Supreme Court Justice dies the President attends the funeral, at the very least. When Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist died in 2005, George W. Bush not only went to the funeral, but gave the eulogy. That was too much to ask of ol’ Barry O, though.
President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama did carve out time in their day to stand in front of Scalia’s casket, then moved to a portrait of the Justice before exiting the building.
The entire process lasted about two minutes. And here’s how Michelle spent the moment of silence.
Justice Scalia has done more for America than the Obama’s can possibly comprehend. This lack of respect is deeply disturbing to see from a President and his First Lady, but sadly not unexpected.
