A new report out on March 10 is forecasting that former Republican Presidential candidate Ben Carson will give his endorsement to front-runner Donald Trump on Friday. This news comes after Carson and Trump held a private meeting together following the Michigan primary which was won by the Donald.
Ben Carson is well liked by many conservatives and will give a strong boost to Trump with the evangelical and tea party voters. But what is most interesting will be what agreements the two candidates may have made behind closed doors, with a real possibility being the position of head of the Veterans Administration which Trump has vowed to overhaul.
If there was still any doubt whether the Trump juggernaut can be stopped before, if not so much after the Michigan primary earlier this week, it can be laid to rest now because shortly after Trump received the endorsement of Chris Christie, the real estate mogul has now secured his second highest profile backing, that of Ben Carson who according to the Washington Post will endorse Trump officially on Friday morning.
Friday’s announcement will also take place at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Fla., where the onetime rivals will appear alongside one another at a news conference.
The endorsement comes at a critical time for Trump, who will almost certainly become undefeatable if he wins the upcoming Florida and Michigan “winner take all” primaries.
As WaPo adds, the support of Carson, a famed retired neurosurgeon and author, will likely give Trump a boost with GOP base voters and evangelicals, who embraced Carson’s campaign in its early days and fueled his brief rise to the top of Republican primary polls. - Zerohedge
Donald Trump has now captured the endorsements of two former candidates, with New Jersey governor Chris Christie throwing in his support for Trump shortly after he left the race. And with Jeb Bush calling for a ‘secret’ meeting with all other candidates but Donald Trump to try to stave off his nomination before next week’s Super Tuesday II, Carson’s endorsement could be the final nail in the establishment’s coffin to try to overthrow their despised outsider.
Inevitably, there could be several other cabinet positions that Trump may offer to Carson within his administration, but the V.A. seems like the best bet considering Trump’s promises to Vets. But either way, Trump is showing America what it means to be a businessman by being willing to benefit his friends, and destroy those he sees as his enemies.
