Vietnam Redux: U.S. continues to arm terrorists despite ongoing ceasefire talks in Syria

During the Vietnam War, the North Vietnamese army, or Viet Cong, would use cease fire meetings called for by the United States to secure positions and re-arm themselves before breaking the cease fire and waging war once again against the South.  This occurred numerous times between 1968 and 1973, with the U.S. falling for this ruse over and over despite the fact they were just days or weeks away from victory in many instances.

Now 40 years later, the shoe is on the other foot as it is the U.S. now calling for cease fires in Syria at a time when Bashir Assad and their Russian allies are very close to destroying ISIS and Al Qaeda mercenary positions within the country.  And like in Vietnam four decades ago, it appears that Washington is playing the same role as the North Vietnamese communists by using the cease fire as a respite to send in new armaments to their CIA backed rebels through Turkey, who has in all intents and purposes joined in on the side of the terrorists.

While there was at least some mystery whether Turkey was supplying ISIS with weapons, supplies and others goods and services in exchange for “ISIS oil” there has never been any doubt as to who provides Turkey with its own weapons. The following disclosure by the US Department of Defense revealing a $683 million procurement order by Turkey for BLU-109 “bunker buster” bombs makes sure of that:

In the 21st century, enemies and allies are no longer cut and dry, with Syria being the microcosm of one of the most fascinating occurrences in history.  This is because the U.S. is now fighting against themselves, with Pentagon military units being opposed by CIA backed terrorist groups, and a clear determination of goals having never yet been announced by the President.

At the center of nearly all U.S. foreign policy is a two-pronged strategy of protecting dollar hegemony at all costs, and ensuring no other nation rises to the height of a Superpower under the Wolfowitz Doctrine.  And after more than a decade of chaos and destruction in the Middle East by the U.S. military and CIA backed NGO’s, Syria has become America’s newest Vietnam.  Only this time it is the Russians who are standing with the ‘South’ while Washington is funding and backing the proverbial ‘North’, and where the aggressors are Muslim terrorists rather than Communists.
