KIRSTERS BAISH| Defense Secretary James Mattis announced that he will be allowing military chiefs another six months to figure out if transgender people will be able to enlist in the military. The “readiness and lethality” of our military forces are in question. The decision was made on Friday and is being implemented immediately.
After speaking with the Associated Press, it was noted that Mattis stated that “After consulting with the service chiefs and secretaries, I have determined that it is necessary to defer the start of accessions for six months.” Mattis went on to claim that they “will use this additional time to evaluate more carefully the impact of such accessions on readiness and lethality.”
You guessed it, liberals are on the case, claiming that it is unfair to even question whether transgender and everyone else are different. Human Rights Campaign spokesman, Stephen Peters, went on to say, “Each day that passes without the policy in place restricts the armed forces’ ability to recruit the best and the brightest, regardless of gender identity.” Apparently now transgenders are some of the brightest and most important people in the world? According to these nutcases, people who are born in the “correct bodies” aren’t the most elite out there. Major eye roll.
Retired Army lieutenant general and executive vice president of the Family Research Council, Jerry Boykin, stated that it is the right decision. He was quoted saying that “The Pentagon is right to hit the brakes on a policy that will fail to make our military more capable in performing its mission to fight and win wars.”
I have to agree with Boykin. It doesn’t make any sense to turn our military into a Human Rights campaign. We are entrusting these men and women with everything we have, our freedom. How are we supposed to sit back and allow our military to become the laughing stock of the world? And on top of that, does it really make any sense at all to be sending people who are emotionally unstable and unsure of themselves into combat. These troops are the ones defending our freedoms and our lives on the battleground. It’s truly mind-boggling to think that because of some transgenders getting their feelings hurt we will be compromising our country’s entire structure. Our troops need to be the strongest and most mentally sound that they possibly can be. Recruiting some crying pansies to promote a liberal agenda isn’t something that needs to happen within our military.
It’s time for the leftists to take their Human Rights campaign elsewhere. The safety of our entire country is at risk, once again, by the liberals. What a surprise.
