Former Democratic Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders has never hidden the fact that he is a died in the wool socialist, with many indicators pointing to the fact that he is actually a full blooded communist. In fact, if you watch an interview Sanders did back in 1985, he praised Fidel Castro and the communist government in Cuba as a ideal utopia for his convoluted ideals.
But ironically the one place he avoids commenting on in South and Central America is Venezuela, where both Hugo Chavez and Nicholas Maduro have praised Sanders publicly for his socialist views. And perhaps the reason that Bernie Sanders wants to avoid the questions regarding Venezuela is because he is afraid that the American people will see the TRUE end result of Socialism, which is the enslavement of the people that is now taking place in that country.
While we here in the United States debate pressing issues in the wake of the upcoming Presidential election, like the urgent need for gender-neutral bathrooms, the people of Venezuela remain entrenched in a food crisis that continues to sow widespread unrest which has become increasingly violent in recent months (see our post here). So what do you do if you’re the President of a Socialist government with mounting civil unrest and growing political opposition seeking your ouster via a recall referendum? Well you enslave your entire nation, of course.
As Vice News reports, President Nicolás Maduro signed a new law last week that requires “all workers from the public and private sector with enough physical capabilities and technical know-how” to work in agricultural fields on demand. The new law mandates that citizens can be required to work in the agricultural sector for a period of 60 days which can be extended “if the circumstances require it.” - Zerohedge
The reality for misguided ideologues like Bernie Sanders is that there are no ‘good’ forms of socialism, only incremental steps in the socialism model that always lead to communism and loss of freedoms. In fact, there has never been a truly socialist or communist government in the history of the world, only oligarchies that implement parts of socialist ideas, but keep power in their own hands rather in the direct hands of the ‘people’.
When a government has to coerce limits, price controls, or any other restrictions on production, that is a means of removing choice and freedom from the people whom are being ruled over by that authoritative body. And at its base nature, these mechanisms are a benign form of slavery just as a military draft is, or as in the case of Venezuela, forced labor in a particular industry.
Men like Bernie Sanders do not mind taking away the freedoms and choices from individuals because he is now part of the oligarchy who would eventually be the ruling class, and benefit from enslaving the people under his convoluted vision of a utopian society. And thanks to him and the many who have been in Congress over the past 20-30 years, the fact that over one third of Americans now rely upon the government to sustain their livelihoods means that the nation is already socialist to a great extent, and are on the course towards full communism when the economic reality of their failing policies finally kicks in.
