KIRSTERS BASISH| Our favorite UN ambassador Nikki Haley doesn’t miss a beat taking home two huge wins this past week. She made the bold move to call out members of the UN Security Council after they actually praised Iran after conforming to former president Obama’s nuclear deal. Back in 2015 the UN and Iran decided on an agreement that would make Iran follow through with their promises to the United States.
Jeffrey Feltman (the UN’s Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs) stated on Thursday:
“Today’s meeting of the Security Council on the implementation of resolution 2231 is taking place against a backdrop of steady implementation, cooperation and progress.”
Joao Vale De Almeida (the EU delegation head) replied by saying the deal:
“is being properly implemented and is delivering on its objectives.”
Well, that’s not good. Lucky for us Nikki Haley was there to come to their aid and bring everyone back to reality. She verbally open fired on the men when she reminded everyone that Iran has “repeatedly and deliberately violate” numerous sanctions against said nuclear deal. Haley brought up Iran’s ballistic missile launches, illicit attaining of missile technology, and “proven arms smuggling.”
Haley went on to state:
“Iran’s destructive and destabilizing role in the Middle East goes far beyond its illicit missile launches.”
But she didn’t stop there. She laid the knock-out punch when she said:
“From Syria to Yemen and Iraq to Lebanon, Iran’s support for terrorist groups continued unabated. Iran’s weapons, military advisers and arms smugglers stoke regional conflicts and make them harder to solve.”
You were mistaken if you thought that was all that Haley had to say about the matter. She won us over when she went on to say:
“The continuance of the Iranian regime’s destructive, destabilizing behavior will prevent it from ever having a normal relationship with the United States and the rest of the world.”
“And the regime’s continued oppression of its own people speaks volumes about its true nature.”
Needless to say, these guys didn’t know what hit them. Nikki Haley continues to prove herself a true patriot who never stops educating herself on the real issues at hand. It’s safe to say that we are lucky to have Nikki representing us, and with her charisma and to-the-point attitude she will take to where we need to be.
