ELDER PATRIOT - According to an official press release:
“U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers working at the ports of entry along the California border with Mexico over the [July 4th] weekend intercepted 700 pounds of narcotics valued at more than $5.2 million.”
The haul included:
- 300 pounds of methamphetamine
- 223 pounds of cocaine
- 22 pounds of Fentanyl
- 77 pounds of marijuana
- 45 pounds of heroin.
A single port of entry over just 3 days.
Yesterday, when President Trump was gracious enough to field questions at the conclusion of his meeting with Mexican President Nieto he was asked, by another reporter who only wanted to embarrass him by asking such a question, whether he still expected Mexico would pay for the wall?
Trump answered, “absolutely.”
The reason? Mexican cartels and other smugglers export cocaine and marijuana to the United States every year that have an estimated street value in excess of $100 Billion. That’s the value of only those two drugs. Heroin, Meth, Opioids, etc. are similarly depleting our nation’s resources both in enriching Mexico’s criminal elements and in the costly treatment that comes with addiction.
Trump has refused to ignore Mexico’s deliberate policy of poisoning Americans for profit the way Obama did.
Instead of criticizing Trump for his calls for a wall to curtail this God-awful practice you’d think leftists - if they were as caring as they claim to be - would be applauding it.
