KIRSTERS BAISH| The Department of Homeland Security in New Jersey has just dubbed Antifa a domestic terror organization and a threat to society. The Antifa group is guilty of brutally attacking Trump supporters on numerous occasions.
Public figures like Milo Yiannopoulos have been the target of Antifa acts of terror as well. When visiting University of California Berkeley, Yinnopoulos was threatened by members of the terrorist group, and his supporters were attacked. He had to cancel his speaking event.
The video below shows one of the violent attacks:
The New Jersey Department of Homeland Security has now issued a warning on their website, stating:
“Self-described Antifa groups have been established across the United States and in several major cities, including New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, and San Francisco. A majority of New Jersey-based anarchist groups are affiliated with the Antifa movement and are opposed to ‘fascism,’ racism, and law enforcement. Antifa groups coordinate regionally and have participated in protests in New York City and Philadelphia. There are three loosely organized chapters in New Jersey, known as the North Jersey Antifa, the South Jersey Antifa, and the HubCity Antifa New Brunswick (Middlesex County).”
Antifa has been known to dox people who expose their violent activity. The definition of terrorism is “the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims.” While Antifa wants to claim that they are not a terrorist group, the very definition proves otherwise. Among the violent activity being enacted by the group, there have been extremely vicious riots causing millions in property damages.
NJDHS also posted a PDF with a comprehensive explanation about their decision to ultimately list Antifa as a domestic terrorism group. New Jersey really has a lot of work to do cleaning up their streets and making sure that this domestic terrorist group is stopped. Antifa has already caused so much property damage that if they were to cause any more it poses a huge threat to their organization. It will take time to figure out if naming Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization will have any positive impact in New Jersey, but it is very clear that something had to be done.
