Just In: ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT ON IVANKA Thwarted

An attempted act of political violence was just thwarted – but don’t expect a wave of reporting from the Left on the need to tone down “violent rhetoric.” If any obscure act of violence can be blamed on President Donald Trump’s “rhetoric,” expect CNN to cover it as if a flight in Malaysia had gone missing.

Meanwhile, threats of, and attempted violence against the first family?  You can expect silence in response to that.

As the Daily Caller reported, Secret Service agents arrested a man who was wearing a bulletproof vest and armed with several weapons Thursday as he attempted to meet Ivanka Trump at Trump Tower in New York City.

Agents noticed 52-year-old Adames Benitez was wearing the bulletproof vest under his shirt when he entered Trump Tower around 4 p.m, The New York Daily News reported. Benitez claimed that he was a U.S. senator who owned Trump Tower and was there to speak with Ivanka Trump about her clothing line.

Police searched Benitez and found two throwing knives, a sock with weights inside and a fake New York I.D, according to police.

Benitez has been charged with weapons possession and having a fake identification card. He was taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City for psychiatric evaluation.

This, of course, is hardly the first time a threat of violence against Trump or his family has been thwarted. There have been a number of attempts to rush the stage during campaign rallies prior to the election, peaking with a 19-year-old British man who attempted to steal a gun off of a police officer with which to assassinate Trump.
